Postcard Friendship Friday 001: Poland: Świnoujście
Saturday, April 09, 2011
Hi there, I am linking with Postcard Friendship Friday for the first time and I was late, well, better late than never...I guess! Found it thru friends blog and thought of joining since the linky collection is still open! yipee! Thanks for hosting The Best Hearts Are Crunchy...
I will be sharing the third out of eight postcard that I received from Bernadeta of Poland...and i like it very much, thank you for sending me this lovely card! It is a card of Świnoujście, it is a city and seaport on the Baltic Sea and Szczecin Lagoon, located in the extreme north-west of Poland. It is situated mainly on the islands of Uznam and Wolin, but also occupies smaller islands, of which the largest is Karsibór island, once part of Usedom, now separated by a Piast canal (formerly the Kaiserfahrt) dug in the late 19th century to facilitate ship access to Szczecin (Stettin).
Since 1999 Świnoujście has been a city with the administrative rights of a county (powiat) (Polish: miasto na prawach powiatu), within West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It was previously part of Szczecin Voivodeship (1975–1998). The city lies in the geographic region of Pomerania and had a population of 41,100 in 2006. And for more information about the place, you can checked it HERE.
This beautiful postcard comes with lovely stamp...together with a little butterfly sticker!

What a lovely postcard! I'm so happy you joined us for PFF.
Don't worry about not having an Easter postcard for PFF--you really don't have to post the same subject matter as I do. PFF is all about postcards and the wonderful people who love them.
Have a GREAT weekend!
