Friday, April 08, 2011
The second card from Bernadeta of Głubczyce, Poland and the first card that she send was the Town Hall of her place...this time will be sharing a town where she is studying, its Racibórz.
Racibórz is a town in southern Poland with 60,218 inhabitants (2006) situated in the Silesian Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Katowice Voivodeship (1975–1998). It is the capital of Racibórz County.
The name Racibórz is of Slavic origin and comes from the name of Duke Racibor, the city's founder. And you can read more about Racibórz HERE.
The postcard also comes with beautiful stamp...painted by Jacek Malczewski (15 July 1854 in Radom – 8 October 1929 in Kraków) and he was one of the most famous painters of Polish Symbolism. In his creativity he successfully joins the predominant style of his times with motifs of Polish martyrdom. These two stamps are
with a face value 1.90 PLN - Ellenai and face value 2.10 PLN - Tobias with harpy!
Also come with a beautiful sticker, its a rose! Again, thanks so much Bernadeta, six more to go...
